I wanted fashionable, nude, high-heel wedge shoes to wear with shorter summer dresses and capris. I wear a wide and Nordstrom's was sold out of this shoe. Are they head-turning? No, but they are attractive and the construction is excellent. The Velcro strap is not at all obvious unless someone with a foot fetish is gazing longingly downward. The strap allows you to customize the fit to your feet, so there is no slipping around in the shoe. You can get a comfortable, firm fit without discomfort, and the Velcro does not show whatsoever.I had no blisters wearing them for two hours straight-out-of-the-box. Since I have a genetic condition which causes severe chronic pain, I can only attest to how long I personally can stand in these shoes. A healthy person with good body mechanics could probably wear them all day without discomfort. For me, these are special-occasion only shoes to be worn for short periods of time.Word to the wise: The footbed of these shoes is nude suede. Since I walked on city streets, it didn't take long for street grime to collect beneath the toe area. I brush the footbeds out gently with a suede brush every time I wear them, and wipe the leather with a cloth to keep them looking fresh and clean. For any stains a suede block simply will not remove, a shoe blogger recommends a few GENTLE swipes with fine-grade sandpaper to leave shoes looking good as new, but I have never tried this personally. On the advice of a friend, I treated the cork section of the shoe with Kelly's Cork Renew (after putting painter's tape on the leather to protect it from slips, removing it immediately after applying the Kelly's. If you have a steady hand, you probably don't need to use painter's tape.) You can get Kelly's on Amazon, too. Kelly's is applied with a brush and goes on white so you can see where you're treating the shoe, but in a day dries to a dull/glossy finish. The expense of these shoes was hard for me to rationalize, but I expect them to last for years. Being able to wear a higher "heel" on occasion is very nice for a lady over 50 with pain issues. While some fashionistas may turn up their noses at a wedge shoe, it adds a nice spark of femininity when you want to do your hair and makeup, slip into a dress, and feel lady-like on a night out with your husband.Let me start by saying I've had 4 foot surgeries & also have major back issues, but still have a love of stylish shoes....very hard combination! Thankfully, I found these Clarks! They are one of the MOST comfortable sandals I've EVER worn! As far as the fit is concerned, you almost feel as if you're walking on a flat shoe due to the platform taking so much pressure off the ball of your foot...a huge plus! The fit of this shoe also seems geared towards a more narrow/average width foot. I do realize they are offered in wide widths, but I think individuals with a very wide foot will have a tough time finding a good fit, (just my opinion, though.) They also run slightly short in the length as many other reviewers have stated. I wear a 7.5 (in any higher heels & a size 8 in sneaks, boots etc.) I got an 8M in these and they do fit (think 8.5 would have been too big) but I don't have any room to spare...my toes are just at the top edge of the shoe. The cushion & support are fabulous. The sueded leather is very nice also, its not hard or stiff, but not flimsy either. I did have a very slight rubbing on my pinky toe after walking in them for several hours the 1st day, but I don't think this will be an ongoing issue as the leather softens even more. I'm happy with the adjustable strap. Personally, I don't have an issue with the velcro, you do need adjustability on the back strap (would've been fine with a buckle too.) Overall, I'm extremely happy with the style, comfort & support of these Clark sandals. So much so, that I now own the blue (awesome with jeans), tan & black all of which are great looking colors. The reason for the 4star review is, because they consistently seem to run about a 1/2 size small and they are a bit pricey, but overall, a fantastic shoe especially, if heels have become a challenge for you. Hope others find my experience helpful!I wear an 8W in most shoes, unless it's a thong type sandal where the toes are not boxed in, in which case a 7.5W fits perfectly. I bought these in an 8W and the fit was good. I lean toward saying they were a little on the loose side, but in a comfortable way. My toes had plenty of room, and I probably could have gone with the 7.5W instead. I wanted to tighten up the strap in back, but as is the case with most velcro straps on shoes, they don't provide extra velcro to fasten the strap to if you're tightening, which leads to a chunk of strap sticking out at the back of your heel. (Not pretty!) The Nubuck leather is nice and soft, with a high quality look and feel. The tan color is a soft, neutral tone. The 1.25" platform and 3" heel provide a nice increase in height, and the slope/angle of the footbed is not overwhelmingly steep, as many 3" heels are. I wore them around the house for a couple of hours and had no issues or complaints. They're lightweight, very easy to walk in. The footbed is nicely cushioned and luxuriously soft to the touch.I really loved the fit and feel of these. Alas I returned them. For me, the wide criss-cross straps were just too bold a look for the special occasion dress I was planning to wear them with. I wanted to keep them, but at $90, I couldn't justify it since I still had to look for another pair of shoes to go with the dress. If purchasing - which I highly recommend - stay true to your natural size with these. If you're between sizes like I am, the smaller size should do just fine.I find these shoes extremely comfortable and love the velcro strap which allows for adjustment. I have been on my feet for a full day in these shoes and they don't get sore. However, they are only four stars because the sizing is off - I am normally a 6.5 but had to go through the exchange process to get a 7.5. This is even when allowing for the back velcro strap - the footbed is sort of contoured to your foot so a smaller size just doesn't fit right. Other than that, they are a great summer sandal. After seriously considering returning these, I've decided to keep them. They fit very close to accurate. I am a 9 in most cases and these are snug but will work.Heel height is just high enough for me...preferring flats that says a lot.I like the Velcro closure for both comfort, ease and convenience. All around good. After reading the reviews about the shoe being on the small side I ordered a half size up. It fits perfect and is very comfortable like my other Clarks. I will say though that these shoes are made for a narrow foot which I have, so I have no complaints.sehen ganz nett aus sind aber sehr eng gearbeitet ....ist wohl ein bisschen typisch clarks ansonsten etwas unpraktisch der Riehmchen- klettverschluĂź...schauen wir mal !!!The metal holding the strap snap after 2 weeks of use
